Review #3: Trager Brothers Coffee

Trager Brothers Coffee - Nicaraguan

Name of Roaster: Trager Brothers Coffee

Location of Roaster (City, State, Country): Lovingston, VA, USA

Name of Roast: Nicaraguan

Type of Roast (Light, Medium, Dark): Light

Origin of Beans: Asobagri, Nicaragua

Price: $13 (16 oz)

Brewing Method (Drip, Chemex, AeroPress, etc.): Chemex

Time Between Purchase and Brewing (Ballpark is fine): One day

Aroma: Cinnamon, hazelnut, honey.

Flavor Profile: Mid-mouth feel, with strong notes of honey and caramel on the front-end of the sip, which clings to tip and sides of tongue. The aftertaste has a strong note of dark chocolate that fades into a sweet finish.

Overall Impression (What did you think of it? Anything else we should know?): We think this coffee would be absolutely fantastic with a salty pairing, such as a croissant or a big bowl of granola, as the flavor profile pointed our palate towards a complement to the sweetness. For those who want to ensure that their coffee is organic, Trager Brothers Coffee is a certified organic roastery. You can find them in rural central Virginia if you're ever in the area, or pick up a bag via the link below.

Final Score (1-10, with 10 being the best cup of coffee in your life): 7.
