Review #2: Swing's Coffee Roasters

Name of Roaster: Swing's Coffee Roasters
Location of Roaster (City, State, Country): Alexandria, VA, USA
Name of Roast: Uganda Mbata
Type of Roast (Light, Medium, Dark): Light
Origin of Beans: Uganda, Bukonzo Cooperative Union
Price: $13
Brewing Method (Drip, Chemex, AeroPress, etc.): Chemex
Time Between Purchase and Brewing (Ballpark is fine): Two days
Aroma: Pure mocha.
Flavor Profile: Medium-bodied, with a mid-mouth feel. The initial impression is cocoa heavy, followed by hints of berry on the periphery, and a suggestion of pine on the finish.
Overall Impression (What did you think of it? Anything else we should know?): This roast was dominated by the cocoa structure, which lends itself more to pairing with a breakfast item rather than as a standalone cup, in our opinion. That stated, it was quite delicious. It appears that this particular roast is no longer featured on Swing's sales page, but we highly recommend trying one of Swing's other roasts. They are consistently good.
Final Score (1-10, with 10 being the best cup of coffee in your life): 6.5.
Where to Buy: Swing's Coffee Roasters
