Review #134: Peach Coffee Roasters

Name of Roaster: Peach Coffee Roasters

Location of Roaster (City, State, Country): Johns Creek, GA

Name of Roast: Huila

Type of Roast (Light, Medium, Dark): Medium Origin of Beans: Colombia

Price: $17 (12 oz.) Brewing Method (Drip, Chemex, AeroPress, etc.): Chemex Time Between Purchase and Brewing (Ballpark is fine): Twenty-eight days Aroma: Opening the bag, we noted crisp chocolate chip cookie, warm brownie batter, spiced milk chocolate, and cocoa nibs. Warm brownie batter, dark drinking chocolate, raspberry and strawberry preserves, and rosé jam appeared on the grind. Caramel, molasses, toffee, crisped rice, and dark cocoa nibs showed on the pour.

Flavor Profile: The sip had a soft and light entry, mid-to-high on the palate, coating the tongue in a delicate chocolate with aromatics that float above the tongue and hit the middle to back of the roof of the mouth. The tip and sides of the tongue catch lemon, while notes of hazelnut, almond, toasted pecan, and baked pie crust hit the central palate, followed by a clean finish.

Overall Impression (What did you think of it? Anything else we should know?): While this coffee was a tad more restrained than we expected, it was perfectly delicious. We paired it with an English muffin and breakfast sausage links, which we would recommend as an ideal pairing. We also recommend stopping into the roastery, as it has a lighthearted and playful vibe.

Final Score (1-10, with 10 being the best cup of coffee in your life): 8.0 Where to Buy: Peach Coffee Roasters
